Her and Pela's love is steaming away in between all the little moments captured between dangers and duty. We get lots of lovely moments of her bonding with citizens and discovering the world, and also with the horses (sweet Sunflower stole my heart!) and just all around endearing herself to everyone she meets, while thwarting danger. But she's never arrogant, and always thinking of others.
Savannah is so savvy and confident, and has really stepped up in her role as 'Chosen One'. There is excellent world-building and introduction of so many communities and animals, and their royals and workings.
We hit the ground running with Savannah looking to recruit some special people in order to unite the land of Rand, and prepare for the evil that is coming! I love that we got to investigate a wide range of the communities and locations of Rand during these parts and be introduced to more characters and their own stories and also some connections to characters we have already met in book 1.
